What is Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)?

LLLT is a quick, gentle and non-invasive treatment used to treat a range of conditions. It is also known as PhotoBioModulation, because its action involves the modulation of the biological activity of the body through the controlled delivery of light.

Every cell in the body responds to light, and different cells react differently to particular wavelengths of light. Use of laser therapy allows us to harness these responses to stimulate the body’s own healing processes, by applying light at specific selected wavelengths, strengths and pulsing frequencies. There are numerous well-researched and effective protocols available for a variety of conditions, with scientific evidence on the benefits of LLLT increasing year on year.

LLLT can be used in conjunction with conventional veterinary practices and to complement and consolidate other manual therapies. It is also drug-free, meaning it can be used in instances where drugs are contraindicated. There are few contraindications to treatment.
