I am a fully qualified McTimoney Animal Practitioner, having graduated with distinction from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic (MSc in Animal Manipulation). I have also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Animal Therapy, qualifying me to treat animals using a variety of soft tissue techniques.
Upon completion of my studies, I was honoured to be chosen as recipient of the Ronnie Longford Student Award 2022 by the McTimoney Animal Association, which is awarded to students who have overcome personal difficulties or demonstrated a particularly high level of dedication to achieve their qualification.
Growing up in North Yorkshire, I started riding at a young age and have been lucky enough to be a horse owner for many years. After buying a ‘problem horse’ who had been badly mistreated, I developed a firm interest in equine behaviour and am passionate about non-violent training techniques.
I have always wanted to work with animals but have reached this point in quite a roundabout way, and I completed my studies whilst freelancing as a parliamentary reporter – yes, really! It was a combination of volunteering at a local horse welfare charity and receiving McTimoney chiropractic care myself which caused me to reassess my career path a few years ago, and I decided to take the leap and retrain as an animal therapist.
It has been so rewarding learning how to help animals lead happy and healthy lives through regaining and maintaining musculoskeletal function.
I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to turn my love of animals into a career, and look forward to helping you and your four-legged friends!
